"Saltman: isn't religion a natural outgrowth of human nature?
Harris: it almost certainly is. but everything we do is a natural outgrowth of human nature. genocide is. rape is. no one would ever think of arguing that this makes genocide or rape a necessary feature of a civilized society."
thanks to agentqup for helping me find amazingly fun ways to pass the time... 1. Pick 20 (let's us be lazy and just do 10, shall we?) films you love/thoroughly enjoy 2. Find screen stills for each film. 3. See how many people guess correctly.
as you may or may not know lendonshmendon and i are engaged! exciting news, i know. so, what's the most fantastic engagement gift you could ever think of receiving from a member of your fiancee's family? ( give up? )
this is just absurd. i was under the impression that this was the twenty-first century. just stop me if i'm wrong.
so the flood, noah and the ark and all that horseshit, that flood caused the grand canyon. i'd imagine there to be a wealth of "scientific" evidence supporting that.
i can't wait to get back to milwaukee to celebrate the birth of santa claus. i shudder to think what it must have been like before he was around breaking into people's houses late at night, gently fingering them by candle light. so, we're leaving by automobile tomorrow and i should be in milwaukee no later than monday (perhaps even sunday!)
fantastic!
p.s. who wants to hit up the west town gigantor screen and get a rusty trombone while we watch the nativity story? let me know.
well well well. it's almost time for my biannual visit to milwisco. walters? presents? drunkenness? church!? yes yes yes and yes. shall we say the 16thish until the 29thish? yes. let's.
had a denver thanksgiving sans anne, but plus a few friends who know how to cook! i even contributed a homemade apple pie. delicious. now i must go tear ulysses a new word-hole. in the words of the illustrious john "cougar" mellencamp, that book "hurts so good".
